As the introduction to the course suggests, one section of the course will require groups of about five students to investigate American Cities in detail. We've just a little more jiggling to do, groupwise, and I'm hoping to finish that by the end of  class on October 15.  The next think is to choose cities.  To help in that, here are the cities discussed in some detail in Suarez' The Old Neighborhood, and Ezell's Get Urban.  Groups aren't restricted to cities on these lists.  But this gives a place to start.  There are a number of cities which are perennial favorites.  Others have never been chosen.  In the case of New York, I'd recommend concentrating on a specific Borough--Brooklyn or the Bronx would be interesting.  Cities which have never been done but should prove interesting are highlighted in red.  Other cities are eligible, as well.
Discussed in Saurez, and  Ezell.
