City Links

Due                 Tuesday, April1 , by Blackboard. (Note Date Change)

ON: Jacobs,  The Death and Life of Great American Cities and

Length: c. 5 pages, typed, doubled spaced.

In a thoughtful essay,
(a) explain how attitudes toward the city can cause actions
which effect the “health” of that city, and

(b) identifies at least two ways in which previously held ideas
have led to actions which actually harmed the cities they were
designed to help, or steps which could be taken to reverse that
    harm.

(c)Illustrate these with examples taken from the city on which you're
          working.

If you wish to include illustrations for your points, you may do so either by including the picture in the paper itself, or by providing me with a link which I can use to open the picture on the internet when I read your paper.

For example:  If you wish to include a Street View, you could include the the code as a footnote like this
  • <iframe width="425" height="240" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/sv?cbp=1,0,,0,5&amp;cbll=41.82572,-87.6121&amp;v=1&amp;panoid=2ZrFalIY2WuP7dU66M2-Uw&amp;gl=&amp;hl=en"></iframe><br /><small><a id="cbembedlink" href="http://maps.google.com/maps?cbp=1,0,,0,5&cbll=41.82572,-87.6121&ll=41.82572,-87.6121&layer=c" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>
or a birds-eye view from maps.live.com with the URL like this:
